QUESTIONS & USEFUL INFO

(*new) What to Wear & What to Expect

We really don’t care what you wear as long as you feel comfortable. Wear your most pimped out tracksuit or a rainbow sequin cloak. (actually, don’t you dare wear a sequin cloak unless you are prepared to have me steal it invoking all bridezilla rights - you have been warned). But seriously just as long as you are happy.

Expect a walk in nature, a sense of adventure. Music on bluetooth speakers. a stand up, stripped back gathering in the field. fun with flags. A sense of fun and informality. The unexpected. Partially speaking: be warned that this is a semi-wild park & public . There will be no seats. The ceremony will be around 30mins. If knowing these things is important to you then the nearest toilets are probably in Cutters Warf bar.

Where we will gather will be near a path but again, wear sensible shoes. Think about all the usual nature advice - thread lightly, only bring what you need, leave no trace.

Where to Stay

Belfast is a capital city - there are lots of options to suit all tastes and budgets near to the venue.

Most people seem to have sorted themselves out by now, well done. Please get in touch if you want any help or advice on venues, facilities

How to Get There

The Field
It would make sense for some people to drive to the entrances of Lagan Meadows. We have given some thought to how this could be arranged but are open to changes.

It’s a 10min walk from your car/or a taxi drop off to to location. It is a very beautiful place so the walk is part of the adventure, embrace it. Wear suitable footwear. If it’s a beautiful day bring a picnic blanket. If it’s crap weather… well we will figure that out then.

The Empire
Parking nearby is tricky but not impossible. There is a mix of paid/unpaid on street parking but beware the ticket men. There are paid car parks on Possnet Street (closest) or the Dublin Road Multi-Story car park can be prebooked and cars left overnight/up to 24h. If you are staying nearby and want to return your car before the meal/before the after-party, then we encourage you to use public transport or taxis to and from the venue. It is very central.
You will figure it out.

Is there food?

We love you all the most. So we will feed you delicious food. Fear not.

Snacks & Refreshments in the field, BYO if you wish depending on ‘picnic suitability’. We will also provide some.

Your main meal will be served in the Empire between 3.30pm - 5.30pm.
Please email me your selection of mains: Beef Shin, Creamy Chicken, Veggie Curry.

What about Gifts?

You don’t need to get us a gift. We just want you there to celebrate with us.

If you really really want to give a gift then cash, experiences, service I.O.U’s (got skills we lack? help us with life) or beautiful handmade art and objects will of course be most welcomed.

* Please get in touch for a list of things you could contribute which would be much appreciated. We can also provide UK bank details or an option for Revolute if you are a cashless operation.

(A plea from Stephen: Please don’t buy us stuff, our house is very full and Meadhbh is a hoarder).

Why is this on your website Meadhbh?

Because I already pay for it so why not use this spare corner of internet real estate.
